"Memorial Day Bagpipes"
I'm really not a music person, but there are certain times when music can overwhelm me. The biggest time is at funerals & memorials like this last Monday's Memorial Day Ceremony in town. Bring the bagpipes out & I feel every soul lost & the pain of their families. Memorial Day has become a more personal remembrance for me since I have traveled overseas to the many American cemeteries & walked the beaches & fields of so many battlefields. I have also learned about my grandfather's cousin who never returned from WWII & has never been found. In this photo I captured not only the bagpipes being played, but the Pride of Baltimore II (an 1812 replica ship) coming back into port as the tribute played. Very memorable indeed - I can even still hear the cannon fire.
